The Avery House

Another hidden gem in Fort Collins is the Victorian-gothic residence called the Avery House. Built in 1879, this historic house is a beautiful window to the past with historic textiles, furniture, and housewares. It was a family home where Franklin and Sara Avery raised their three children. 

Later, members of the Avery family sold the house in 1962, but it was recovered by the Poudre Landmarks Foundation, which restored it to its original Victorian-era style. Now it’s an important part of the local history, registered in the National Register of Historic Places.
