It has been a year since my article about the lifestyle in Fort Collins, Colorado. In the meantime, I spent a lot of time exploring new restaurant options, researching, and working with different clients. So, today I want to share with you an update on what’s it like to be living in Fort Collins Colorado in 2022.
Lifestyle in Fort Collins
Going for a beer in Fort Collins is like going for a coffee. You do it out of pleasure, without any specific purpose. Fort Collins is all about enjoying time with your buddies and enjoying a good tasteful beer.
There are a ton of breweries surrounding us – Coopersmith’s, Equinox, New Belgium, Odell’s – so supporting that side of the local economy is second nature.
The working culture in Fort Collins
Here in Fort Collins, we are working to provide for ourselves, our families and our lifestyles. But to be honest, if you go out on a Wednesday evening, there are not a lot of things to do at that time. You may go out for a music or comedy show and then grab some pizza, but that’s it.
That kind of speaks to what the working relationship is here in Fort Collins. It is not a grind until you can’t lifestyle. We are here to live our lives and understand we have to work to accomplish that. That does come with a cost of sorts. Businesses are open “late” Thursday through Sunday, but otherwise, Fort Collins is a ghost town after 8PM most other nights.
The outdoor scenery in Fort Collins
Fort Collins is more of a lifestyle community where you can live with your family and enjoy some quality time outdoors. That plays into our “fan mentality” for the local CSU football and basketball teams. If we’re not cheering on our favorite teams at the stadium during the weekend, we’re probably hiking and spending time in nature. Hence why we tend to be some “fair weather fans”.
We’re very fortunate to have so many things to do in nature where we can find rejuvenation with some much-needed relaxation.
The art scene in Fort Collins
Another fantastic thing about Fort Collins is our music and art scene. We have tons of live music, whether it’s in the Aggie Theatre, the Armory, Washingtons, or the Artery. You will find music of all different types and styles. Our art scene is very important to our community. Just walk down any alley. You’ll see murals on the sides of buildings, sculptures and art gallery’s throughout Old Town.
You can head out on a warm or sunny day and spend it in the Old Town square where you can listen to live music and feel very safe and welcomed.
Fort Collins: The Destination Place
Fort Collins has become a popular destination place. Whether it’s because of our Disney-inspired buildings, Old Town Square, or all of the outdoor lifestyle options, Fort Collins has become very attractive for tourists.
Not just for folks who want to come visit with no ties. Fort Collins is now the place where family comes to visit YOU, rather than you going to visit family. So, I suggest you prepare a guest bedroom for when your friends come to visit you.
A Friendly Community
The best thing about Fort Collins is that it’s a very friendly community. Most people that visit Fort Collins have the nicest things to say about the locals in general. So, if you consider moving here, make sure to bring a positive attitude with you because that’s what our community is all about.
