A Night on the Town in Fort Collins

Table of Contents

A night out goes a long way, especially if you have kids and are in desperate need of some quality alone time. So that’s exactly what we’re going to talk about today – a night on the town in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Here are some things you should know to get the most out of your night in Fort Collins. Let’s dive in.

#1 Find a reliable babysitter

If you have kids, you’re going to need to have a babysitter to help you out. Finding a good, reliable, and relatively available babysitter is one of the first barriers to your date night. With CSU as well as Front Range Community College, there is no lack of young, trustworthy individuals looking to make some extra money. Expect to pay $20-$25/Hour.

#2 Uber/Lyft wait time

To make sure everything goes according to plan, try to book your Uber in time. Some nights are busier than usual, so you might have to wait for your driver to pick you up for 20 minutes or longer. Fort Collins is NOT a big metro with 20-30 Ubers driving around all of the time. There is a limited supply of Uber/Lyft drivers and sometimes they may have to drive 15-20 minutes from their location to pick you up.

#3 No reservations needed (typically) and wait times

There are definitely some restaurants in town that you will need to set a reservation for on Friday/Saturday nights and during busy holiday weekends. Aside from a handful of those restaurants, many restaurants you can walk in and expect a minimal wait. NOW, a minimal wait to ME is 20-35 minutes.

#4 The cost of an average night out

So how much would a night out in Fort Collins cost you and your partner? Here’s a breakdown.

  • Drinks (5 drinks) and a charcuterie board at Social $100 (tip included)
  • Appetizers, dinner, and cappuccino at Café Vino $180 (tip included)
  • Babysitter around $25/hour for 5 hours or $125
  • Uber rides around $50 (3 different rides)
  • TOTAL: $350-$500

#5 Closing times

Another thing you should know is that Fort Collins doesn’t have such a late-night feel. As a matter of fact, most bars and restaurants close around 10 or 11 P.M, even during weekends. Now, if you want to party, you will definitely find some college bars that are open until 2 A.M., serving dollar shots and drinks. Otherwise, most bars and restaurants can expect to close before midnight.

So there you have it! A night on the town is always a good idea, so make sure you treat yourself once in a while.
